Music
The music program at Green Acres strives to expose participants and listeners to a broad range of sacred literature. Our music programs are open to all, and we provide instruction at all levels. We delight in providing for children a foundation in experience of sacred music. Likewise, we welcome adults who may wish to refresh their musical skills or learn new ones.
Children’s Programs
Our Sunday School Singers enjoy learning and
practicing songs of faith during the first fifteen minutes of Sunday school
hour each week. About once a month, the children share their music with the
congregation at the 10:30 worship service.
Adult Ringers
Bell Choir meets every Wednesday. The Bell Choir rings at worship services spaced throughout the year and joins the Adult Vocal Choir when bell accompaniment is needed. They sharpen their skills at regular rehearsals where new ringers are always welcome to sample the experience of handbell ringing in preparation to joining the group.
Chancel Choir
Adult Choir meets every Wednesday. The choir provides vocal music for services September through June. Guests, ensembles from the group, and soloists are called upon during the summer to provide music for worship services. Special musical programs are presented for Advent/Christmas and for Lent/Easter. Advance notice for special presentations is published in our weekly bulletin and the newsletter and calendar posted in the right sidebar.
Youth Praise Band
During the school year the Youth Band meets at 5pm before youth group to practice. We sing at the end of youth group every Sunday, as well as leading worship music some Sunday mornings. The whole band is youth ranging from singers to guitarists and drummers. Contact Jaime Ambrose if you are interested in joining us.
