Casey Bittle, Pre-K 4 teacher (4-day program) and school registrar

Mrs. Bittle earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Special Education from LeMoyne College. She earned her Masters degree in Education with a concentration in Supervision and Leadership from Goucher College. She spent 10 years as a full-time teacher in Maryland until her husband’s Navy career relocated them. Later, another move brought the family to Florida, where Mrs. Bittle substituted (including as a long-term substitute) in preschool and kindergarten at a private school.

Mrs. Bittle has two boys, ages seven and nine. Both boys attended Green Acres Preschool when the Navy last brought the family here. Her boys loved the experience so much that when they found out they were coming back several years later, Mrs. Bittle wanted to be a part of this very special school. She joined the Green Acres Preschool faculty in January 2017.

Casey and her husband, Kevin, can usually be found cheering on their boys at soccer or baseball games. Casey is also a PTA board member at her boys’ school. Casey loves to spend time at the beach with her family, bake, and travel.

Lynda Rountree, Pre-K 3 teacher (3-day program) and school licensor

Mrs. Rountree received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She moved to Western Branch in 1988 and has been a teacher at Green Acres for 21 years.

Lynda and her husband, Tom, have two adult children, Joy and Jesse, and are blessed with three grandsons.

Lynda enjoys reading, gardening, and camping. She and Tom have traveled throughout Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Kentucky in their camper and have become fans of the great outdoors.

Kelly Cochran, Pre-K 4 teacher (4-day program) and school administrator

Mrs. Cochran achieved her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the College of William and Mary. A Springfield native, she taught in public schools in Fluvanna County and Charlottesville City before moving to Western Branch in 1989. She is now in her 16th year of teaching at Green Acres.

Kelly and her husband, Jim, have two daughters, Amy and Sarah. Amy is a second-year student at the University of Virginia, while Sarah lives and works as a teacher in Brighton, England.

Kelly loves to travel, read, and spend time at the beach. She and Jim always look forward to opportunities to visit Charlottesville and the UK.
