Honoring God by serving others: This is the principle behind Green Acres missions. “Caring for the least of His children” is a meaningful experience that benefits everyone involved and strengthens our bonds of fellowship.
Summer is an especially busy time for missions as adults and youth alike are invited to participate in larger international or domestic mission trips. But Green Acres supports important missions at home and beyond, year-round.
Green Acres participates in a number of ministries in the local community, including Meals on Wheels, The Portsmouth Area Resources Coalition (PARC), H.E.R. Women’s Shelter, OASIS, Full Circle AIDS Hospice, EDMARC Hospice for children, and The Portsmouth Homeless Shelter. In addition, Green Acres provides holiday food baskets and financial assistance to local families in times of need.
Through support of the Witness Committee’s fundraisers and other generous congregational gifts, Green Acres participates in overseas missions in the Congo. Assisted by the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia’s Mission Interpreter, Etienne Bote-Tshiek, we share in faith with our sister church, CPK Kintambo.
We encourage you to find your service niche, share your talents and gifts, and grow in spirit. To find out more about getting involved in missions, contact us.
